Clinical Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a natural, altered state of consciousness which is used to increase the effectiveness of treatment.

Clinical hypnosis or hypnotherapy is an optional extra that I use with clients if they wish. Clients often have incorrect perceptions about hypnosis and believe it to be mysterious and magical and have seen it as a form of entertainment where the hypnotist apparently controls the mind of the volunteers on the stage.

In a trance state, you become very focused and absorbed and it enables you to concentrate on your strengths and learn new habits or behaviours very quickly.

Clinical hypnosis is not an instant answer for resolving your problems and all hypnosis requires the cooperation of the person being hypnotised. You can resist hypnosis if you wish.

People vary in the extent to which they are able to respond to hypnosis and it has nothing to do with being weak minded or gullible. I find that many people are initially very apprehensive about hypnosis, but once they have tried it, really like it and the outcome varies from being merely relaxing and enjoyable to remarkable.

Some of the common problems it is used with include; anxiety, depression, pain management, problems with sleeping, weight management, stress management and breaking habits such as nail biting.
