Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

In this disorder, you have distressing intrusive thoughts or images and seek to reduce your anxiety by carrying out rituals or compulsions to reduce the anxiety of the thought. The compulsions can take up a lot of your time.

 

The thoughts are often around doing harm to others or yourself, germs and contamination or doing something shameful. There may also be obsessions without the ritualising or compulsions.
